2012 Season 2 – GT Challenge – Week 1
The GT Challenge featuring the GT1 Corvette and the GT2 Ford GT cars kicked off this weekend at Watkins Glen in up-state New York. I started 8th on the grid in my ‘vette and was black-flagged for jumping the start. I was just a little anxious to get going! In turn 1 I was shoved left across the big curb and took right-side damage. Needless to say it was a long pit stop for repairs and the penalty. Returned to the track between the 7th and 8th place cars, 1 lap down.

I spun on lap 4 and had to be towed back to the pits for more repairs. Ended up 2 laps down and still managed to finish 8th in the GT1 class. Not how I wanted to start the season but it was still fun with lots of racing to be had in the 45 minute race. 29 cars gridded for the race, 17 Corvettes and 12 Ford GTs!

Going to try and run another race this afternoon with Magnum from SimHQ. We are both in division 8 and we lead the points standings so far, me in the ‘vette and him in the Ford!
